Rule 23
Provisions regarding selection of chairman and members of management committee

(1) In accordance with clauses (a) and (b) of sub-section (1) of section 12 of the Act, the principal shall call a meeting of parents within thirty days of the commencement of the academic session for the purpose of selecting the chairman and members of the management committee of the community school. However, for the purpose of electing a chairman or member due to the expiration of the term of office, at least thirty days prior to the expiration of the term of office of the chairman or member, and in other cases, if the position of chairman or member is vacant, a meeting of the parents shall be held within fifteen days of the vacancy.
(2) According to sub-rule (1) three days before the meeting of the parents, the committee as per sub-rule (3) shall publish the list of unmarried parents in the school.
(3) According to sub-rule (1) in order to assist the parents regarding the selection of the chairman or members, the concerned inspector or if he is not available, the district education office will form a four-member selection support committee consisting of the principal, resource person and representative of the local body.
(4) Other procedures related to the selection of the Chairman and members of the Management Committee shall be as prescribed by the District Education Committee.
